There are five aspects of charity performed by the virtuous.
(1) Charity based on the belief in kamma and its results, saddhadana;
(2) Charity given with respect and reverence, sakkaccadana;
(3) Charity performed at an appropriate time, kalaldana;
(4) Charity devoid of clinging and attachment, anaggahitadana,
(5) Charity that does not harm oneself nor anyone else, anuphahaccadana.
